I sharpen both figure and hockey skates, mount blades and do small repairs such as punching and screw replacement. Whether you are a recreational or competitive skater participating in singles, pairs, dance or synchro, I can give you the grind to maximize your performance. Skates are sharpened while you wait, however, blade mounting takes longer so be prepared to leave your skates with me.
WHAT I DO
SHARPENING
The radius of the hollow in your blade depends on persoanl preference, ice conditions, skating abiity and usage. I can give you the hollow of your choice to maximize your skating performance.
BLADE MOUNTING
Blades need to be correctly mounted for optimum performance. This takes much longer than sharpening so you will need to leave your skates with me. New blades will need to be sharpened after they are mounted.
PUNCHING & SMALL REPAIRS
Sometimes new skates rub,
especialy on the ankle bone. I have specialized punches that create a small pocket to take the presuure off the spot that is hurting. The punch needs to stay in place overnight, so be prepared to leave your skates with me.
